After an entire season of racing, VC Montpellier, a new team formulated under the leadership of Mr Cleaver, have attained a Wildcard.
Wildcards, given out only to those deserving teams, symbolises the achievements the team has seen throughout the season. A mass migration of riders out of the team, namely the old and untalented, left the team with Medwin Moad as team leader. A solid climber, the 30 plus year-old achieved the first result for the team, seeing VC Montpellier climb to Division 6.
During the stay in Division 6, an under-rated Belgian, Louis-Phillipe van Kamp, joined the team and began taking on the role of team leader. Originally aiming at mountainous races, the teams focus has since changed, looking for hillier sprint races. Van Kamp began the role of main point scorer, and has since wracked up the majority of the teams points to see them rise through the Divisions to the lofty heights of Division 4, and the ultimate heights of being the 22nd best English team.
Other rider's who have joined the team come from a variety of backgrounds, with the Kazakh, Isaak Usau, forming the climbing contingent within the team. He's since maxed his climbing ability, but will provide useful backup to any leader.
Two more riders have joined recently, with both having a small potential quality in sprinting. Dantel Campo from Panama and Kuba Flak from Poland will both support Louis-Phillipe until Jeffrey Ree has been trained in the school of sprint. Unlike Louis-Phillipe, however, Jeffrey is a pure sprinter, and really will struggle over any bump in the road. His knack lies in the technical circuit. Just roll on the money for training!
